Broncolor Focus 110

The new deep umbrella Focus 110 is a parabolic umbrella reflector with 12 seg-ments. It has a diameter of 110 cm (43.3") and is 40 cm (15.7") deep. The internal coating is silver reflective, the outside is black. The sturdy construction of the prop is made of steel and the rods of high quality fibre glass composite.

This provides optimal tension and shape of the umbrella and the highest stability for the use in the studio or on location. Focus 110 is not just a "normal" photo umbrella. The differences are clearly visible. The light is more directed and very homogeneous. By moving the light source within the umbrella, the light characteristics vary from very hard to very soft. This helps to create fast and easily the desired mood and will give to your pictures the final touch.

Bronoclor Strip Grid 5:1 for P70 reflector

Honeycomb grids are popular accessories to control the light angle. They are known in metal for reflectors or fabric for softboxes and Paras. Various sizes allow to reduce the coverage angle accordingly.

A honeycomb grid always gives an image with higher contrasts as less light becomes reflected. Due to the form of the grid, the illumination is round and centre-oriented.

We supplement our assortment of honeycomb grids with the new Strip Grid 5:1. Basically, it has the same function as all our honeycomb grids. However, what differs completely is the form of the honeycomb. As the name already implies it is not round but constructed rectangularly at the rate of 5:1 which gives you new creative possibilities. What until now could only be achieved with complicated optical systems can now also be realized with this innovative heat-resistant honeycomb grid.

Bronoclor RFS 2.2 Receiver & HS Function

The RFS 2.2 transceiver operates as a remote control or radio flash trigger for one or more broncolor power packs or monolights equipped with an RFS 2 interface. Power packs or monolights not equipped with an RFS 2 interface can be operated by connecting an RFS 2.2 transceiver (as a receiver).

RFS 2.2 is available for Canon, Nikon, Sony or Fujifilm camera and optimized for its operation.

In the HS mode the transmitter is factory set to work correctly with all camera models of Nikon, Sony, Canon or Fujifilm camera. The time between flash triggering and shutter opening is controlled by a prepro-grammed trigger delay in that way that optimum lighting results with an exposure time of up to 1/8000 s may be achieved.

Bronoclor Edge Mask

An Edge Mask is an accessory for Softboxes. It is like an additional diffuser which you can easily mount on the front of the Softbox thanks to the Velcro.

The inner part of the Edge Mask is a completely dark square where no light is passing. The light only shines through the edges creating a frame of light. The frame is 7 cm (2.8") wide for the smallest Softbox (35x60), 10 cm (3.9") wide for the medium-sized (60x100 and 90x120) and 15 cm (5.9") wide for the biggest Softbox (120x180).

The purpose of the Edge Mask is to create a contour light around your subject. To achieve this nice effect, you place the Softbox with the Edge Mask exactly behind your subject.

The frame of light will illuminate the edge of your subject while the background stays black. To avoid having the frame of light in your image it is more convenient to use long lenses.

The Edge Mask can be used for stills as well as for portraits. Depending on the sub-ject you will have to choose the according size of the Softbox. As the shape of our sensor is always a square the Edge Masks only exist for square Softboxes.

Phase One IQ1 100 Digital Back

Phase One has announced a lower-cost version of its 100MP digital back, as well as a pair of new Blue Ring lenses for the XF camera. The new back joins the ‘no frills’ IQ1 range and will be offered in mounts for Phase One XF cameras as well as for Hasselblad H models.

The back provides the same resolution, 53.7x40.4mm sensor and 15-stop dynamic range as the top-end IQ3 model and much of the same specification, but it lacks many of the shooting features and has no HDMI or Wi-Fi communication. The IQ1 models can't share power with the XF body and have no electronic shutter or ability to capture while in Live View mode. Display options are also restricted, with no exposure clipping warnings and no Exposure Zone tool – among other functions and menu items.

Schneider Kreuznach 45mm LS F3.5 and 150mm LS F2.8 IF

The two new lenses joining the Blue Ring range, which is designed to cope with the higher resolution sensors, include a wide-angle and a moderate telephoto focal length. The wider is the Schneider Kreuznach 45mm LS F3.5 which provides the same 48° angle of view as a 28mm lens would on a 35mm camera. The LS in the name indicates that it has a leaf shutter and so can synchronize with flash at shutter speeds of up to 1/1600sec. The lens uses 10 elements in 7 groups and offers both auto and manual focusing options with a closest focusing distance of 55cm/1.8ft.

The second lens is the Schneider Kreuznach 150mm LS F2.8 IF, which acts as a 94mm would on a 35mm camera. It can synchronize with flash at shutter speeds of up to 1/1000sec and can focus as close as 100cm/3.2ft. It uses 8 elements in 7 groups and accepts 105mm screw-in filters, and Phase One claims it can produce an extremely shallow depth of field.

ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15, Milvus 2.8/18, Milvus 2/135

Two super-wide angle lenses, the ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15 and ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18, and the telephoto lens ZEISS Milvus 2/135 have expanded this family of manual focus lenses for DSLR cameras, bringing the total number of ZEISS Milvus focal lengths to nine. “The ZEISS Milvus family of lenses is an invaluable investment for the future due to its excellent imaging quality and its large range, which now covers 15 to 135 millimeters,” says Christophe Casenave, product manager at ZEISS Camera Lenses. Delivery of the new ZEISS Milvus lenses begins at the end of October 2016.

For high-end DSLR cameras

“The ZEISS Milvus lenses have been designed in particular to fulfill the requirements of today’s powerful digital cameras and those of the future thanks to their high imaging performance, even in difficult lighting situations,” says Casenave. The new lenses are characterized by a harmonious bokeh and very high degree of flare control due to the T*® anti-reflective coating from ZEISS. Further optimization of the lens coating has also ensured less likelihood than ever of ghosting, flare or shading effects, even in critical lighting situations. And all ZEISS Milvus lenses come with a floating elements design, which compensates imaging errors at different distance settings.

ZEISS Milvus for video

The new ZEISS Milvus lenses also allow the user to create high-quality film shoots with a pleasing cinematic bokeh. “Due to their extremely high contrast rendition, the lenses fulfill the most modern video standards of 6K and higher, and have uniform color characteristics,” said Casenave. All ZEISS Milvus lenses have a focus ring with a very large rotation angle to enable precise focusing, and are made of comfortable rubber to ensure a good grip while focusing. The De-Click function on lenses with a ZF.2 mount lets cinematographers set the aperture in a soft and infinitely variable way so they can work professionally in changing lighting conditions. The ZEISS Milvus lenses’ robust full-metal barrel ensures long and reliable usage. In addition, the lenses are protected against dust and spray water. The robust metal lens shade is an integral part of the overall product design and included with all ZEISS Milvus lenses.

The new focal lengths of the ZEISS Milvus family are also compatible with the ZEISS Lens Gears, providing filmmakers with additional value-add. The ZEISS Lens Gears, which are made of high-quality aluminum with a hardened surface coating, slide into the respective lens and are attached to the focus ring by turning two counter-rotating rings through a simple mounting procedure.

The new ZEISS Milvus lenses in summary:

ZEISS Milvus 2.8/15

This super wide-angle lens with a field of view of 110 degrees allows every photographer to consciously compose using extreme perspectives. The lens has excellent imaging performance – even with an open aperture – thanks to the correction of color errors. Color fringing and distortion are minimal. This is all thanks to a ZEISS Distagon® lens design with 15 lens elements in 12 groups, including two aspheric lenses, special glass with anomalous partial dispersion, and the floating elements design. A removable lens shade and the 95-millimeter filter thread also make this lens the ideal companion for special applications with additional slide-in filter holders.

ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18

This compact super-wide angle lens with a newly calculated ZEISS Distagon optical design has 14 lens elements in 12 groups, including two aspheric elements. The ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18 has a short close-up distance of 0.25 meters and internal focusing. With an angular field of 99.9 degrees, this lens is the ideal companion for landscape and architectural photography, as it allows creative shots to be taken using unusual perspectives. The filter thread has a diameter of 77 millimeters. The ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18 delivers outstanding imaging performance and very good distortion correction.

ZEISS Milvus 2/135

This fast telephoto lens delivers excellent correction of all color errors. Thanks to a large aperture and pleasing bokeh, it is the perfect lens for portrait photography from a medium distance. The angular field is 18.7 degrees. The short minimum object distance of 0.80 meters makes this lens even more versatile. It has an optical design with 11 lens elements in eight groups and, like the ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18, a filter diameter of 77 millimeters.

While the digital camera incorporated in each new generation of the iPhone has improved dramatically, what has stayed the same since its introduction is the way consumers hold the device and navigate its features and settings. With that in mind, when it comes to taking a photo, it’s not very ergonomic and simply does not compare to the traditional experience offered by that of a dedicated DSLR. Advanced shooters welcome a DSLR’s physical controls which put frequently used settings right at their fingertips - something Pictar was designed specifically to replicate. By bringing these physical controls to the iPhone, Pictar offers unprecedented control and gives users the ability to take their iPhone photography to a completely new level and transform the way they use it to take photos and video.
